Maternity Services

The partners are able to offer you the full range of ante-natal and post-natal care in conjunction with local midwives and hospitals.

Post Natal and 8 Week Baby Checks - These appointments are usually held at the end of morning surgery with a Doctor and the Practice Nurse. This involves full developmental check under the Child Health Surveillance programme. Immunisations, wherever appropriate, are given by the Practice Nurse.

Family Planning Services

All aspects of family planning are offered by the surgery. Appointments can be made in the usual way. On occasion the Doctor may suggest a follow up appointment with the Practice Nurse if this is appropriate. All women aged 25-65 years old are recommended to have a cervical smear test every 3-5 years, in line with the national policy for screening. This is usually undertaken by the Practice Nurse by appointment.

Immunisations and Travel Vaccinations

As well as dealing with routine immunisations, our Practice Nurse is able to give detailed advice for travellers. Please contact the surgery 8 weeks before your departure date to allow plenty of time for the necessary vaccinations to be given. Each year in October/November we arrange influenza vaccinations for all eligible patients. Please make an appointment for this.

Minor Surgery

Dr Ameer is qualified in performing minor surgical procedures (joint injections) at the surgery. Please make an appointment with the Doctor to discuss this.
